I have seen several Cdv's of men in the Third Michigan Cavalry, they seem to be wearing the regulation 12 button Uniform coat with colored trim. A unusual feature however is that the collar appears to be half the size and only have one false button. Were these trimed with the yellow tape? When were these uniforms issued?
