I too had a gg-grandfather in the 11th MI cavalry, Co. "I" to be precise. I am presently serving as an "Interpretive Specialist" at the Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site, in Kentucky. I have been trying to look into the regimental history for some time now, and can expand upon the standard histories to a appreciateable extend. If you would like, I can pretty much tell you what roads he travelled, where they took him, who they met, what they did, etc. etc. Did you know that during their short term of serivce, the 11th rode (exclusive of scouts and forages)4,526 miles? My long term goal is to accumulate enough data to produce a proper regimental history for the 11th MI. Thus far, I have only eighty pages(less than half done, but still growing), excluding the bibliography, which runs another fifteen. I have acquired photos for most of the officers, and a few enlisted personell, but feel no shame in begging, any and all, for additional documentation regarding either the men or the the war they rode into. My mail box is always open at lott1012@msn.com.
