I am searching for any Regimental or Company photos associated with the Michigan 19th Infantry, Company C. My GGGrandfather James McIntyre/McIntier/McIntire enlisted on December 17, 1863 and passed away from disease on May 14, 1865 either in Williamsburg or Smithfield, NC. I have never been able to find any photos of him.

I am also interested in finding where was buried. I have searched records for the National cemeteries and found no record of him. Would the normal process have been to transport his body back to his home town, if he had died of disease versus on the battlefield?
