Re: proclamation made by MD general assembly, May

Bryan,

I can definitely believe it, and can relate for that matter as far as having research all over the place.

I have two suggestions:

- If you have a scaner, scan the documents you have and label the files something you can search for later, BUT and this I found is important, dont make the name longer than your Operating System can handle. Yes, if you save enough files (1000's in my case) your OS eventually will save files not only too long to recognize, but too long to open, or rename to a shorter name.

- Organize your data with a grouping system you are happy with then back up your files to an external drive. I bought a Western Digital I am happy with but get one you like. Ive rebuilt my research before I learned this lesson since I lost 2 Gig of data last November. I am really happy with what Ive recovered and rebuilt, however every once in a while I come accross research from before I lost my data that I havent recovered yet and it makes me wonder what else Ive worked for but lost.

In addition to that I would consider an off site backups. My cousin recommended Drop box 2Gig for free but I am considering Carbonite. I hope this doesnt bite me in procrastinating like it did last time.

Although it isnt exactly what you were looking for, searching through this may support the document you have. I was just going page by page and the link below is close to the date you mention. I would guess they must have met to discuss a letter like the one you are describing... I would certainly hope!
