He is buried at Prospect Hill cemetery in Washington DC. Just off of North Capitol Street. His marker states" In Memory of Louis O. Wissman Co. B. 1St. MD. Cav. C.S.A 1839-1919". I have a photo of the marker. Email me at russw02@yahoo.com and I can send it to you if you like.

He lived in Hyattesville most of his life. But I can't find much documented history on him. Family stories say he was captured at Monterey pass, sent to Ft McHenry and then on to Point Lookout. He was then tradded in a prisoner exchange in December.
