Re: pre-war Maryland Militia or Guard

Hey Johnny Reb,
I have a pic of another ancestor who was a yankee and rode as the surgeon with the 11th Ky Cav. The pic is of him in a tux or nice suit. I printed out pics of all the accoutrements, uniform, Medical Staff Officers' sword, etc, etc, and had an artist do a portrait of him in his uniform. I don't know if he wore a single breasted frock or shell jacket type, maybe even a sack coat or if he wore some sort of double breasted coat. So I opted to have him in a regulation double breasted frock coat. It turned nice. I wish I could e-mail it to you.

But anyway, I would do the same with the ancestor that served in the prewar Maryland Militia and then Co. "H" (Washington Vols), 7th Va Inf., A.N.V. but I have no pic of him and don't even know what his face looked like.
Take care,
Dave
