Marian... This is very interesting information. Colonel Nugent's Cass County Home Guard coordinated their activities both with Colonel Robert T. Van Horn out of Kansas City and with Lane's Kansas Brigade in July - October 1861. I am trying to locate an early roster for this unit. If I can provide any information, please let me know.
