Looking for information on John Bunyan Rowland (1841 MO - 1919 KS). He was a nephew of Margaret Watts Hays, Col. Upton Hays' wife and served under Alexander Nugent in the Cass Co., MO Home Guards in 1861 then went to Kansas and joined the Union Army in abt. 1862. The NPS lists his service: Cass Co.
