Chris.... Not sure I can make it down, but did speak with Arnold Schofield last evening at the KC CWRT and he informed the group on more details than I had on the event.

I will be working with the State Park's group on this project some and, hope, like you do to see Island Mound come to realization.

By the way, has your research come up with more information on John Sixkiller, the American Indian officer (?) or NCO who was engaged in the battle and acknowledged for his bravery. There is a photgraph of a Redbird Sixkiller, at the Military History Institute in Carlisle, PA. Are these two Civil War soldiers and Indians related?
