Am searching for any information on G-Grandfather George Washington JOHNSON b;20,Sep.1842 IN.(I think) d; 12,Nov.1916 Hancock Co. IN.

I believe he enlisted 18, Apr. 1861 in Company G. 8 Reg. Ind. Reg. Vol. (in Hancock County) and was Honorably discharged in June 1865.
Have searched for this Company have not found anything.
Where were they sent? I do know that he received a pension but do not know anything else.

Again there were so many George Washington Johnson's that I do not know if this is him of not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
