Hey Kathy. I am working on a tombstone replacement project in Mt. Vernon, Indiana and we have 26 gravesites that are unmarked that we believe are confederate soldiers. There was a military hospital located here that was set up for confederate soldiers only and "many" died there. The graves are unmarked. We have no way of finding their names and will install a confederate headstone marked unknown. We would prefer to have their names! There are also 55 marked union soldiers in this "soldier's row" of Bellefountaine Cemetery.
