I checked the Nationwide Gravesite Locator at he VA; http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/j2ee/servlet/NGL_v1 and also could not find anyone that matched up with a William or W Franks who died in 1863.

Do you have this man's Compiled Military Service Record? Perhaps, let me emphasize "perhaps", it has a reference to the place of his death and burial.
