Joseph Land 1st Indiana Cav. Co.B

Hello,

Trying to determine if this is the same Joseph Land that deserted the 45th North Carolina in Virginia in June 1862. The 1st Indiania Joseph Land mustered at Leavenworth in Sept.1862. Was there a prison there during the Civil War ? Would this info be in his CMSR ? Thinking he may have voluntarily surrendered, took the oath, and joined the Union Army. Hope someone can help

Thanks,

Glenn Land
