John, many thanks for providing these details about the 80th IN Infantry regiment! The roster shows names of other of my ancestral families who lived in the Martin Co IN area during the mid-1800's (Cissel, Clements, Lents, Rogers, Seals) and I can now link their CW service histories with that of my 3G-grandfather, Wilson Salmon, and create an annotated listing showing the relationships and census histories of these soldiers.
