My GG Grandfather enlisted in Co C of the 29th Illinois. A Native of Hessen, Germany Heinrich Roeder was living in Eagle, LaSalle County, Illinois. He had immigrated in 1862 so luckily he missed some of the bad earlier battles. At 17 he substituted in Oct of 1864.
