This is an interesting thread and answers a few questions for me. I am researching those in Company A, 2nd Illinois Cavalry which was formed in Ogle, County, Illinois. I have the diary of Private Charles R. Allen of that company and he mentions Frank Clendenin enlisting as one of three company buglers also, Frank Clendenin met Charles at the train when Charles arrived in Morrison on furlough on 14 August 1863 (just a little sidelight that to me, makes history so interesting).
