106th Illinois,
12th Michigan Infantry,

They served at Snyders & Haynes bluffs & also Milldale Post Office. About 10 mile
above Vicksburg. Sometimes called the "second front". Go up there, Snyders Bluff
still has a stone marker , Milldale is still there.

Gen. Kimball led an abortive mission up to Mechanicsburg on 3 June, 1863, consisting
of Engelmann's and Montgomery's BDEs of Kimball's DIV, plus Moyer's BDE & a battery
of artillery.
