I am looking for any information out there on an American Civil War veteran relating to his life and/or death. His name was Morris Wetzler. He was not an Australian native born veteran, as first believed, but was born in Germany. His residence was listed as being in Rock Island, Illinois, where he enlisted as a Private into “K” Company, Illinois 37th Infantry. At one point he was transferred from “K” Company to “G” Company of the same regiment. There is no record of his muster out date.
