My GGGrandfather (Alfred Marion Peterson, or A.M. Peterson in most records) was a Corporal in Co C, 6th Arkansas Infantry, captured 19 Sept 1863 at Chickamauga. He was sent to Louisville, Kentucky.
The record from the national archives ends there.

His application for an Arkansas Confederate pension states that he was discharged in May 1865.

Likewise, his application for the UDC Southern Cross of Honor states that he was discharged in May 1865 as an Orderly Sergeant.

Where were the POWs from Chickamauga sent when the Dix-Hill Cartel broke down? Were they all sent to the same prison, or were they sent to various places?

Any advice on where to look? Trying to close the loop from Chickamauga to the end of the war.
