My gg Uncle Charles V. Phillips was a 2nd Lt. in the 56th Ala Parisian Rangers, he was captured at Big Shanty Ga and transported to Johnson's Island. According to his CMSR he was there from June 20, 1864 to June 15, 1865.

Has anyone tried to get information from NARA on POW at Johnson's Island? I can't make out at their website what I should order or where it is. I'm looking for any correspondence they might have, or records of packages received. I'd also like to find a copy of the oath of allegiance he signed.

Any help appreciated.
