Good luk in finding your soldier. I am trying to find out what happened to the men from Western Virginia who were captured in a861 and 1862 and sent to Camp Chase. My GG Grandfather was Luke McIntire, listed as a guerrilla on a POW roster. He and his brother were both captured in Tyler County Virginia in August 62. Luke's brother signed a loyalty oath and was released. Luke refused and was sent to Vicksburg in Deember 62. Does anyone know what units the guerrillas were assigned to. Many were from the local state of Virginia militias who remained lotal to Virginia.
