Re: Members of Company G, 19th Virginia

Tom:

James M. HAMILTON enrolled at 19 years of age at Massies Mill, Nelson County, Virginia on 1 MAY 1861 to serve as a Private in Captain Thomas M. Boyd's Nelson Grays, 19th Regiment, Virginia Infantry. This unit subsequently became Company G, 19th Virginia Infantry. He was present and accounted for in 1863 and 1864. There are no Federal POW records in his file.

Major Waller M. BOYD was received at Fort Delaware on 7 JUL 1863 and sent off to Johnson's Island on 18 JUL 1863. All of the others except for William JOHNSON appear to have verifiable POW records.
