I am searching for any information concerning Private John C. Applewhite, Co. H, 12th Mississippi Infantry. He was reported missing at the Battle of Weldon Station, August 21, 1864 after entering Union trenches with a contingency of 400 and a few colonels. I have done some research on prison sites without success. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
