Thanks to both of you for your replies. Benajah and Benjamin are the same. I had most of this info but not as much detail on the service part. I had him located in Franklin Parrish and have a copy of his Marriage License. I had hoped that service records might list parents. The Nancy Jones he was with in the census was Nancy Randolph when she married John Jones. I think she is his mother but I haven't been able to prove it Thanks again for your help it added some real facts to some of the things I thought I knew.
