Zackery, surrendered at Citronelle, Ala., by Lieut. Gen. R. Taylor, C. S. A., to Maj. Gen. E. R. S. Canby, U. S. A., May 4,1865, and paroled at Meridian, Miss., May 10, 1865, resident of Winsborough, Franklin Parish, Louisiana

Report of Maj. Duncan Buie, Fourth Louisiana Battalion Infantry,
of operations May 15-29.
HDQRS. FOURTH LOUISIANA BATTALION,
May 29, 1864.
CAPT.: I assumed command of the Fourth Louisiana Battalion
near night-fall May 15. Same night retreated from Resaca. Continued
to retreat south, resting at intervals, until Wednesday, 25th
instant, when the command was ordered into line of battle near
New Hone Church. Same night intrenched our position. Remained
in trenches sixty hours, during which time lost 3 men killed
and 8 wounded. May 28, marched to the right of New Hope Church.
May 29, in rear of line of battle two miles and a half east of New
Hope Church.
