Have you given any consideration to the idea that the Arkansas may not have carried 6.4 Brooks, but in fact had 6.4 upgraded 32-pounders. There is not alot of solid information that contractor Shirley or Lt. Brown had access to true Brooks, but much that indicates that the revised 32s would have been available in some quantity at various times February-June 1862 at Columbus, Memphis, Fort Pillow, Vicksburg, and possibly aboard the Pinkney vessels and Van Dorn that escaped the Battle of Memphis. All we know for certain that the Arkansas had when she left Memphis for the Yazoo was two each Columbiads and Dahlgrens.
