The Cottage Industries-Old Steam Navy model of the Arkansas shows a rather large flat hatch they say for an air vent jutting out on the main deck directly aft of the casemate. Do you think that might have been the location of any coal chute? It also seems to me that it might have been possible (if the shutters were raised) to get some supplies in an out of the gunports.
