Since beginning my research on Percival I have come to admire him a litte more each day. A really capable and skillful naval officer, who had his life not been so tragicallly cut short, would have risen to admiral's rank.
Although he spent much of his life at sea where his movemnts are reasonably well recorded, his time ashore is proving tricky, which is why the census info. is invaluable.
