In Response To: A question for Terry Foenander ()

Patricia, if you wish I could send you the actual transcripts, or my transcribed version, which I still have packed away in one of the many unopened cartons stored out in the garage (after a recent move). However, I will need to look for these, which I can do in three or four days time, when I have the full day off. I cannot remember his full defence, but I think he was tried on two occasions, the first time during which he managed to get out of being charged, but he was dismissed after the second trial, in August, 1863. Also, he was not the only officer to be placed on trial, from the USS ARIZONA, who had been involved in such activities. I also have copies of Upton's letters home to his father, which I had purchased from some source in the U.S., many years ago.
