I don't have a clue as to the locations of images that might be useful to you, Jim. I have , however, just received a two volume set that covers the scene in words as I have never seen them. 1200 volumes of "The Confidential Correspondence of Gustavus Vasa Fox, Assistant Secretary of the Navy" were published in 1920 in New York for the Naval Historical Society. I'm certain that some messages were pulled by Fox's son when the collection was donated in 1912.

Biographical material on all major naval commanders included.
