After her capture, the Atlanta became a Union warship and was used until the end of the war. She was decommissioned at Philadelphia in June of 1865.

According to the Naval Historical Center, the Atlanta was sold in May of 1869 and became the Haitian warship Triumph. She sank off Cape Hatteras in December of 1869.

I don't know whether she has ever been found.
