Don't know much about bells and whistles, but yes, the 'ceiling' is the 'overhead.' And walls are bulkheads, the floor is the deck, stairs are ladders, and the water fountain/keg is the scuttlebutt. (The water keg on a boat was like the coffee pot in a modern day office - a great place to pick up rumors. And that's the origin of the query, "What's the latest scuttlebutt?") And while we're at it, girls are pogeys, and candy is pogey bait.
