Re: Marine Guard on the CSS Alabama.

Dave, thanks for your help, but I believe that I do have copies, photographic or otherwise, of all the known images of the CSS ALABAMA. Andrew Bowcock's volume included, at the time of publication, all the then known images of the vessel. Since then there are at least two more that have surfaced, including the better quality image of the vessel, taken at Singapore, held in the collections of a Singaporean gentleman. The other recently uncovered photo is one of crew members, shown on the vessel, held by the Liverpool Maritime Museum. The Singapore photographs are the earliest known images, dated in December, 1863, but I have seen several Union Navy Department dispatches, which mention photographs of the ALABAMA taken some months earlier. I assume that they were taken by Union spies when the vessel was under construction in England, and sent out to several senior Union Navy commanders to help in identifying her. I would like to know exactly where these images are, as several copies are known to have existed.
I also have copies of those images of the CSS TENNESSEE/USS TENNESSEE.
