Sorry that I have very little additional information for you. Yes, Pritchard's Georgia Battery, commanded by Capt. Edward E Pritchard did succeed Capt. Girardey in command of the Washington Artillery of Augusta Georgia. This happened August 25, 1862. This is a slim hint but I hope it helps you.
