After the first shot from the howizter they discovered on the playback the ring caused by the projectile bouncing in the bore. Since you only hear that ring with bronze guns and since the ships only had iron guns this was not acceptable. Someone pulled a piece of carpeting from the back of their truck and we duct taped it to the chase of the gun. They also hear the rattle of the various implement hooks and chains on the carriage. This wasn't acceptable either, so we duct taped all the iron parts that would make any type of noise.

We also reduced some of our charges to reduce the velocity so that there would be more time to record the incoming/outgoing projectiles (spread the sound out). It was an interesting weekend.
