In Response To: Quinby and Robinson ()

Steve;
The firm of Quinby & Robinson of Memphis TN made a total of 77 cannon and guns for the confederacy. of these, 15 are known to survive. The survivors are, eight 12 pounder bronze field howitzers (3 at Shiloh, 2 at Gettysburg, 1 at Savannah, 2 at Des Moines IA both in a worn condition). One 6 pounder bronze field gun located at Hutchinson KS. two 3" bronze rifles both located at Petersburg. two 12 pounder bronze napoleons both located at Gettysburg. two 24 pounder bronze howitzers located at memphis and Petersburg. Several of these are in private hands which would further limit the available. The guns you seek for Pea Ridge would most likely have been a 6 pounder field gun or a 12 pounder field howitzer based on the timing of the battle to the production schedule of Quinby & Robinson. The napoleons would have been cast to late for Pea Ridge and, anyhow, the Army of Tennessee would have been first to get them.

It would be impossible to identify any civil war field gun as being at the Battle of Pea Ridge as that information no longer exists. The best you could hope for would be to borrow one and that is not a high probably.

There is a gentleman would has Wayne Stark's records and he said he is preparing to offer a very limited number of the list which contains over 5,500 guns of all various sizes. I do not feel at liberty to give his name and contact information here but if you contact me, I will put you in contact with him.
