Thanks John.

This tube is 1/2 inch seamless steel sleeved and plugged and welded. I bought the gun from a fellow cannoneer in Alabama. Marshall Steen said to look under the tube for his mark, however when visiting him last fall he was stamping the rim bases. I'm not sure of the tube maker as of now. We haven't dismounted the gun to check for markings.

If you are not shooting strapped rounds are you patching the ball in some fashion or still using a sabot unattached? I'm not planning on any stupid experiments. We get powder in Winchester, VA. I'm sure you know John at Back Creek Gun Shop. We are planning our first live fire experimentation soon. Probably try some canister first to get the crap scared out of us. Can we e-mail to discuss specifics?

Thanks for your response. That video clip and the ones on Paulson Bros. site are inspiring. I'd rather shoot paper live than some of the reenacting we do. Just standing and shooting ain't no fun. But we do know how to move too. No horses, limbered and unlimbered.
