The West Virginia in the Civil War Message Board

Good Research Source

Recently, I came across a good source of boigraphical information on Civil War Soldiers who died in West Virginia. A good many soldiers who served, lived into the 20th Century long enough for researchers to benefit from information provided on their Death Certificates. This database at the West Virginia Division of Culture and History contains records of many men who served the state of Virginia during the Civil War.
