My Grt-grandfather was Abraham C. Snyder originally Co. A then
transfered to Co. G of the 3rd Wisc Cav.
I was at Ft Scott, Baxter Springs, Nevada, Balltown Cem., Montevallo, Pea Ridge, Prairie Grove, Canehill, Van Buren/Ft Smith, Wilsons Creek, Newtonia, this past 11 days experiencing
and picking up what info I could about where he was, and what he might have seen. Another book, "Found No Bushwhackers" the
diary of Sgt Mallery Co. A mentions having seen my Grt- Grandfather at the Fort (Scott) Mallery and Porters book are available from Vernon Cty Historical Society Nevada Mo.
I have his discharge, Lorenz bayonet& scabbard, waist belt w/ US buckle, GAR name/unit badge and a Hdqtrs Co. A list of engagements of the 3rd (GAR?) I have put together this past yr,
a notebook of his muster roll sheets, Co. G roster, pension file, his postwar xerox GAR uniform picture, and about 10+ xerox copies of 3rd Wisc Cav soldiers from Carlyle Barracks photo archives etc. I also purchased a photo-copy of Lt. Benj. Fullager Co. A from the Gen Sweeny Mus at Wilsons Creek

good descriptive chapter on Baxter Sprgs. is" C.W. on the Lower Ks.-Mo. Border" by Larry E. Wood.
