Denis JF Murphy is my Great Great Grandfather on my mother's side. I have quite a bit of information other than his military service. I have pictures of his grave taken by my cousin, newspaper articles, etc. Denis John Francis Murphy maried Bridget McGinnis on 27 Nov 1853 in Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin, USA They had 10 children. Being you posted this almost a year ago, I am not sure what you may have found out since then. In fact my 4th cousin sent me this link to your post because she thought I would be interested. Which I am. She is a Murphy and she is actually related to Denis' brother John. So we have definately been comparing notes.
