My family branch from Wisconsin fought we these regiments. Last name "Prouty".

Inf--6th, 17th, 21st, 38th and 42nd
Cav--3rd and 4th

Total: 8 Prouty's, 3 served in the 17th, 1 each in the rest. For the famous 6th Wisconsin Private Stephen Prouty was in company "K". I will check up on him at the LOC to see if he made it through the war.

Hey Jim!!! Yes the 25th did lose a couple of flags during the war. I believe they lost the "Offical" first flag out in the East, during the West Va campaign. Porterfield's regiment. The 5th nc lost their flag at Williamsburg so they get the credit for losing their flag for the Army of the Potomac later to be the Army of northern va.
