Frank, I posted my answer on News and Views. My ancestor like Ivan Turchinov was a Cossack from the Don Province...so they may have been related way back. They did have some things in common,...Turchinovs.. both fought in the Crimean War and were in the Civil War....though my ancestor was in the Ohio Home Guard, Sebastopol wrecked him.
