I own a book of tactics that he had captured at Winchester.

He was the son of Peter and Mary Byrne of Lucerne, PA. His father was a lawyer as was Martin following the war.
Martin was disgraced after the ambush at Winchester. Looks like he was a scapegoat. He escaped being imprisoned by lying
about his identity. Pretended to be a private.

Lived until 1921. Buried at Cypress Hill National Cemetary.
