Trying to learn more about this unit, which was described in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 8 July 1862, as being the company that escorted CS prisoners, who had arrived in Philadelphia on 5 July, from that city to Fort Delaware. According to the Inquirer, the prisoner escort was commanded by Major Thomas.
