Re: Burial locations of 198th PA officers

Hi Robert,
I found an obit for a Maj. C. Izard Maceuen, killed in the battle before Petersburg on April 30th. It is in the Phila. Inquirer on April 5, 1865 - pg. 5 col. 3. If you contact me I can send you a copy. The obit indicates his funeral was April 5th from his father's residence to proceed to Christ Church yard, Fifth and Arch streets.

I found an obit for Maj. Edwin Glenn in the April 10, 1865 issue of the Phila. Inquirer - pg. 5, col.2, but it only indicates he died at City Point VA on the 4th from a wound received while storming the Rebel works at Petersburg and that,"Due notice will be given of the funeral".

Another obit is posted in the April 12, 1865 Phila. Inq.(pg. 5,col.3) The obit indicates he was to be buried with full military honors at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

As luck would have it, we helped put flags on the graves at Cedar Hill for Memorial Day. I just went & checked the pictures we took that day & surprisingly, there are some of Edwin Glenn's grave. We have a friend who is a descendent of Col. John Glenn of the 23rd PVI, & we thought this might be another descendent. The grave indicates he was Brevt. Col.

We can send you the pictures & the obits. If you can't contact us through this site, send us a note on the 26th PVI site and we will be able to acess that.
Take Care,
Eileen
