I am looking for information on a scrimmage between troops from Gen. Wade Hampton's Cavalry and Union toops, including the 4th PA , at Little Washington, Rappahannock County, VA Nov. 8, 1862. Hampton was almost captured as he ate dinner. I have an account that a dance was also going on with local ladies and officers from the CSA cav. The dance was also interrupted by the arrival of Union troops. Any information would be a great help.
