Three James Steels served in the Pennsylvania Volunteers:

James Steel
Residence was not listed;
Enlisted on 8/26/1861 as a Private. On 8/26/1861 he mustered into "M" Co. PA 3rd Cavalry. He was discharged for disability on 3/9/1862.

James Steel
Residence was not listed;
Enlisted on 6/7/1861 as a Private. On 6/7/1861 he mustered into "H" Co. PA 26th Infantry. He deserted on 8/11/1861.

James Steel
Residence was not listed;
Enlisted on 8/26/1861 as a Private. On 8/26/1861 he mustered into "M" Co. PA 3rd Cavalry. He was discharged for disability on 3/9/1862.
