I am trying to acquire any information available on Simon J. Reading an Australian born Civil War veteran; relating to his life, family, descendants and especially where he is buried. All I have is that Simon J. Reading was born in New South Wales, Australia. His residence was not listed, but he enlisted as a 22 year old Private on 11/18/1861. On 1/2/1862 he mustered into "H" Co. OH 77th Infantry. He died of disease at Shiloh, Tennessee on 4/25/1862 and was buried at Shiloh National Cemetery, Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee.
