Searching for letters, journals, and other personal and public documents referencing the life and military service of Pvt. Samuel Jones Pickands of Battery K, First Ohio Light Artillery. Pickands' military service was brief: He enlisted on Feb. 1, 1862, and died of disease about a month later at Parkersburg, (West) Virginia. He was the youngest son of James D. and Louisa Pickands of Akron and Cleveland. Any and all help appreciated.
