Searching for letters, journals, and other personal and public documents referencing the life and military service of Charles O. Oldfield, who enlisted in the Ninety-sixth Ohio Infantry as a sergeant in Company C. He rose in rank to become first lieutenant of Company B. After the war he settled in Canton. Late in life he entered the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Home, where he died in 1920. Any help appreciated.
